The tour is no more than 3 hours long.
The tour will begin at Arabian Courtyard Hotel in Bur Dubai and proceed from there.

Tour includes: Dubai Museum entrance, Bastikiya neighborhood, Abra ride to the Diera souks and much more. (all fees included)
​
The tour will end at the same location started. I will be happy to escort you to the nearby Metro station or recommend good spots for lunch/dinner in the area.
​
Please note that lunch/dinner is not included.

There are two tours per day and one on Fridays & Saturdays.
Timings are as follows:

THE TOUR, TIMINGS & COST
I am an independent tour guide specializing in historical tours of Dubai. Most tourists are mesmerized by the glitzy skyscrapers, malls and attractions of "new Dubai." And rightly so - they are a testament to the vision, progress and success of this pulsating, vibrant city.

Less appreciated is "old Dubai," the historical and cultural nerve center of the city and the place where it all started. Situated around the Dubai Creek, my informative walking tours will provide a political, economic and social background to Dubai - its start from an obscure pearling village and how it transformed itself into the metropolis it is today.
​
The tour starts at the Dubai Museum and continues along both sides of the famous Dubai Creek - the original lifeblood of the city. We will visit both the Bur Dubai side with its historical buildings, attractions and sights. We will then head over to the Deira side with its bustling commerce including its markets (or souks) and its traditional port.

A must for the well-informed traveler to understand where, how and why Dubai is what it is today.

My name is Ahmed and I will be your guide through historical Dubai!!

I am 32 year old half-Emirati who has lived in the UAE for all of my life. The exception was my university days in Canada, where I graduated from business school.
​
Despite my business school background, history has always been my passion - especially the history of the UAE and the Gulf. I left my old careers in the corporate world and then in real estate to fulfill my dreams: Trucial Tours was born!
​
Trucial Tours was conceived while I traveled on holidays and visited historical sites throughout the world. I realized that there was little or no historical tours of Dubai. Most tourists are simply unaware of the historical background of Dubai.
Until now, the focus has been on "new Dubai," the glitzy skyscrapers, fancy malls, theme parks and beaches.

I thought that this should change and here I am! My tours are based on an academic-level knowledge of the history of Dubai, the region and beyond. During the tour you are more than welcome to ask me about politics, the Islamic religion or any questions you have about Dubai, the region and its culture.
